 PIXELHOBBY CRAFT [MINI-MOSAICS]
Our other website is PixelHobby www.pixelhobbynz.com and from this craft product you can make Family Portraits from photographs which will last for many generations to come. Do have a look and if you go directly to the page for making your own pictures you will soon see what we mean. I have entered a picture there of my first immigrant family on my Mum's side - Thomas and Margaret Tressler with their eldest son William. William was sent back to Australia as he chopped off a finger or two in the mills [so the story goes] and was sent back to his step-grandfather to learn the Tailoring Trade. Personally, I think if he could use the tools required in Tailoring then he should have been able to carry on in the mills. But that's only my belief - who knows what the real story was?
N.Z. INTERNAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT [BIRTH, DEATH & MARRIAGE RECORDS]
You can now go directly to the Internal Affairs Department and search for "Historical Records" on their website. Go to www.dia.govt.nz and on the right hand side at the bottom of the page you will find a link to search their records for Births prior to 100 years; Deaths prior to 80 years; and Marriages prior to 50 years. I have been having fun so there you go - another avenue that you can search at home.
With the Births you can put in the Surname and leave out the child's name and then put in the Mother's first name and start with a year before the parent's marriage [say 01/01/1875] and then end the search with a 20 year gap [say 31/12/1895] and you will find the entire family [normally any way].
